Victoria Worrell

Last summer, I was in the car with my mom was driving me to camp. When I got to the entrance to the camp I saw a sign saying Trefoil Academy welcomes you “and please watch out for muggle crossing”. I was getting out of the car and put my bags down in the great hall my family and I walked to Knockturn Alley where I got my money, robes, and books. I said goodbye to my family and head down to Diagon alley where I got my wand, and a lot of other things. As I headed to the Great Hall with all the returning campers as we waited for the new campers to be brought up from Diagon Alley. After lunch my housemates and I moved into the house and began to unpack. All the houses meet back up on the Quidditch field to start the first activity. The first activity was making the camp go back in time by having a color powder war. Each house had their own color of powder and the staff had their own too. Once when the battle was over and powder filled the air, the evil Garnet came rushing onto the fielded. Garnet said, “One of your staff member tried to kidnap me but, I escaped from them in the early morning, I am giving you until the end of the week to find out who kidnapped me.”

When the next day, rolled around we began having doing classes. Each day we had a different class. For example, The classes were Ridiculous, Potions, Care of Magical Creatures, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Surviving the Forbidden Forest, Air Evocation, House Elf, Black Lake, Gemology, Choir, Ready Set Spell, and many more. Each class had different magical powers to them than the other. Every house had a class with each other at least once.  As I was in my first class Ridiculous I played a game where I got out, they hit me with colored powder.
At Trefoil Academy each night had a different theme. My favorite night is “Halloween Night,” when I dressed up as Batgirl for dinner and the evening activity. Also there was a haunted house that you could go though. Even if you got scared easily, the camp had a “no scare” version.
I was walking into the haunted house with my friend when I heard screaming. It is pitch black out the whole time. Somehow I put my hand in this green gluey stuff that smelled like silly string mixed with candy.
A few nights later, my year got to do “Wand at the Ready.” “Wand at the Ready” is a game where you cast spells on dementors to stay safe. When the game started, all I heard was people casting spells to warn off the dementors. My friend Brynn started a screaming contest between her and the dementors. Near the end of the game the dementors kidnapped Brynn and we had to save her.
In the middle of the week, all of the houses decided to hide their house gems for safe keepings. Each house gem keeps their ghost from disappearing from them because all the ghosts have information that each house will need later. As I walked down to the hiding spot for the gem with my house, the ones that got picked will know where the gem will be placed. They also  came up with the idea to play a game and then hid the gem when the other campers and the rest of the staff head back up.
My year in Wolfin had to put on a skit to finish our training with Cypher so that we are fully masters in our area. As my year and I prepared for the skit we decided to do the “Troll in the Bathroom” scene from the first Harry Potter movie. One of our other staff members named Sneaky Giant was the troll for the skit. The night of the skit I felt like my heart was going to pop out for me because I was really nervous to perform in front of over 100 people. When the skit was over everyone loved it so much it was one of the new talks around camp. Later that day,  during the quidditch/quadpot tournament at half time, My air evocation class learned a flag corps dance with other members of the class and perform it to the camp but, I was so excited that I was bouncing all over the place.
On the final night, at our last dinner together there was a nervous feeling in the air, because the house cup was to be given out at the end of the night. After eating, each class gave out awards for the students that they thought should be given the award. I was so nervous when my house was giving out their house elf award, because no one knew who was going to get it. Finally, when they called my name, I was shocked that I won the award because I never thought that being myself at camp would help me win. When Ash started calling up campers and staff who had been there for five years and wasn’t shock because I have been there for a long time. The final award was given out and it was time for the house cup to be given out to the house with the most points. My house got second place because one of the first years said an unforgiveable cure to another camper. After the night activity, the camp finally found out who kidnap Garnet. Froggie said, “Yes, yes, it was me that kidnapped Garnet because I wanted to find out more about westguards because I am blood related to them.” When Ash find out about Froggie being related to the westguards, she flip out because her family was killed by the westguards in her young life as a kid. Then Ash said, “Why Froggie, why didn’t you tell me because I could have helped.” After that we had a party until a little after 12am and then a Harry Potter movie marathon until morning.
This event was a milestone in my life. Trefoil Academy has been in my life from 2009 and will be until I die because it is my first camp where I stayed overnight for a week. Each year it gets better because the staff try so hard to make it like Hogwarts. It is my home away from home and it was my fifth year too. They are my second family because the staff love us with all their hearts. They take off of work to make our dreams come true.Every milestone in my life because all of them are from Trefoil.
